DEKALB – The Northern Illinois men’s tennis team went the distance with Western Michigan Saturday in the Mid-American Conference men’s tennis championship match, but came up short in a tough 4-3 loss to the Broncos.

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Wins at the top of the lineup were not enough for Northern Illinois to secure their seventh-consecutive victory at SIU-Edwardsville, as the Huskies fell to the Cougars, 4-3.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Northern Illinois men’s team won its six-consecutive match Saturday night when it defeated Saint Louis, 6-1. The Huskies were close to a 7-0 sweep but senior Max Phillips was forced to retire with 4-1 lead in the second set at No. 4 that forced a point to the Billikens.

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Northern Illinois men's tennis team improved to 4-1 Friday with two wins at Boylan Tennis Center, capturing victories over Dayton, 5-2, and previously unbeaten Valparaiso, 7-0. The Huskies will have a chance to improve to 5-1 Sunday with their match versus UIC to complete their weekend home stand.

DeKALB - The Northern Illinois men's tennis team swept its home-opener Friday night at Boylan Tennis Center to improve to 2-1 on the year with a 6-1 over Wisconsin Whitewater and a 7-0 triumph over Chicago State. The Huskies are 1-0 in the Mid-American Conference with the win over the Cougars.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - After advancing to the round of 16 early Saturday morning, sophomore Dor Amir ended his run at ITA Midwest Regional at Michigan State in the afternoon. Amir was the first Northern Illinois men's tennis player in at least 10 seasons to advance to the round of 16 at the regional.

DeKALB – The Northern Illinois men’s tennis team closed the first day of the Tom Fallon Invitational 4-3, with two wins each against Notre Dame and Michigan State, two nationally ranked teams last season. Rain delayed play for two hours and 45 minutes.
